Hi, I’m Jovana, and I’m a student at University of Regensburg, where I attended a unique bilingual class that was taught in both English and Montenegrin during the 2017/2018 school year. My home school experience gave me the incredible opportunity to apply to the Städtisches Stiftsgymnasium Xanten in Germany. In what was a highly competitive selection process, I was awarded a full scholarship for the 2018/2019 period. I had a great time at my new school – all my courses were taught in English, I stayed with a German family, had international friends, and attended intensive Spanish lessons. This programme has given me a solid base through which I managed to learn a lot about the EU, which I believe will help me not only in becoming a future EU citizen, but also allow me to contribute to my country in the best way possible, while supporting Montenegro’s integration into EU society. Furthermore, as I had hoped to improve my international competences, knowledge of EU values, and proficiency in German, I decided to spend the 2019/2020 period at Horn Gymnasium, Austria, where I learnt German, and continued learning Spanish. In my opinion, experiences and the knowledge of languages play valuable roles in getting to know different peoples, cultural habits, and in accepting and respecting diverse ideas, while recognising true values. This school year I’ll be returning to being home-schooled, where I’ll be able to share the experiences I’ve gained with my schoolmates and my local community – inspiring positive social changes in Montenegro, and the region!

Hello, I am Djellza Ibrahimi! I am a public administration, political science & diplomacy graduate (currently working at the Ministry of Health in Kosova) and I am a huge cat enthusiast also 🙂

I began my volunteering and activism in 2017 and became a YEA in 2020. In recent years I have been very involved in the area of mental health. However I have a wide variety of interests relating to art & culture as well as human rights.

I also greatly love social media; I am currently the copywriter for the Meeting Of Styles and in the past I’ve helped out with social media management at Support Groups Kosova and the Municipality of Prishtina Instagram pages. I also won the YEA influencer award in December of 2023!

I have had the opportunity to take part in a variety of conferences, workshops and events. You can find me at any protest relating to upholding human rights and most certainly volunteering at culture related festivals in my country. Check my socials linked above for more info! ʕ ꈍᴥꈍʔ

Understandably an ambassador that represents a certain group of people, must not only be a man of himself, but also a voice of the people. This ambassador must be able to do and say what is needed, the words that the people and the “top dogs” need to hear. What is needed to be done for a greater cause, must be done.

Desantila Muriqi

Country: Kosovo

Interests: Human Rights, International Relations

I am Desantila Muriqi, a dedicated advocate for human rights with a master’s degree in “”Democracy and Human Rights in Southeast Europe,”” and a Young European Ambassador passionate about international relations. I’m driven by a strong desire to make a positive impact.

Over the past four years, I have embraced my role as a YEA, working on initiatives to encourage dialogue and tackle important community issues. My journey has been characterized by collaboration and passion as I strive to bring about change in Kosovo and beyond. I have initiated and led several projects focused on amplifying voices and effecting positive change, all achieved without financial resources. One of my significant endeavors was a Kosovo-wide tour focused on climate justice. By engaging young people from different NGOs in discussions about environmental challenges, I raised awareness and built connections with around 200 individuals from across Kosovo, creating a diverse community committed to local environmental action.

In addition to my environmental work, I have organized several impactful cultural projects. These include “”Netflix&Discuss,”” which provided a platform for discussing popular series and their social implications, while also motivating high schoolers to take on leadership roles and collaborate by co-organizing sessions for their favorite series; “”Read and Discuss,”” facilitating conversations on selected books to promote literacy and dialogue; “Music and Discuss,” where attendees immersed themselves in a two-day youth music festival held in Gjakova, engaging in singing sessions and discussions around the bonfire; “”Art and Discuss,”” a competition showcasing the talents of young artists in writing, photography, and painting, as well as promoting cultural expression and emotional wellbeing during the pandemic; and “Write and Discuss,” where individuals penned pieces related to COVID-19, followed by a hybrid event where 40 selected works were read aloud. Despite facing challenges, and being fully self-funded, these projects have acted as catalysts for fostering community engagement and connection. Each lasting approximately three months, they provided a platform for around 300 youth to sustainably unite, support one another amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, and collectively learn and grow through the process.

Currently, as a consultant on Gender and Human Rights at UNFPA in Kosovo, I continue my efforts to address human rights violations and promote regional collaboration. My work is guided by a belief in the power of cooperation to create a more inclusive society. With more academic knowledge and professional experience in diplomacy and human rights, I intend to take an active role in participating in and advocating for events related to these topics, while also proactively organizing them during my second term as a Young European Ambassador. With a commitment to building connections and tackling challenges, and a deep passion for international relations, I see a future where the Western Balkans joins the EU. Through my efforts, I aim to contribute to a more united Western Balkans, where everyone’s rights are respected, and where we lead by example in areas like human rights, environmental protection, art, culture, sports, and technology.

I’m Fatbardh Kabashi and I come from a grape-town in Kosovo called Rahovec. I also support marginalised groups in various spheres. I have participated in numerous youth workshops in Kosovo and have volunteered for numerous activities. I am in love with cities I have not seen, people I have not met and cultures I do not know, and this gives me the enthusiasm to take part in various workshops and activities. As I believe that young people have the strength to make a difference for the better, I work towards this at every given opportunity. We have to be together, because together we are better. Together, we can change the world.
