North Macedonia is a candidate country for EU membership. The EU is the country’s primary political and economic partner, and its largest donor and investor. Cooperation and financial assistance covers a range of areas, making a lasting impact on people’s lives, business, and the environment.
North Macedonia, with the support of the EU, is undertaking a comprehensive improvements needed to progress towards EU membership, such as strengthening the rule of law and improving public administration. In this way, the EU is working with North Macedonia towards a more prosperous future for its citizens.

The European Union Office in Kosovo has launched a call for proposals for the Kosovo-North Macedonia cross-border cooperation programme. The programme includes two thematic priorities: the first is encouraging tourism and cultural and natural heritage, and the second is protecting the environment, promoting climate change adaptation and mitigation, risk prevention and management.
The Europeans Podcast and Are We Europe Audio are looking for new contributors to the “This Is What A Generation Sounds Like” podcast series, supported by Allianz Kulturstiftung. The new contributors have to be young Europeans (aged 18-34) ready to tell intimate stories from their village/ town/ city/ region which will be presented as beautiful visual animations as well as audio-only podcasts. Storytellers will be paid €800 to work with producers on bringing their personal stories to life in one of the series’ episodes. The call is open to submissions from duos or teams.
