On 30 June 2026, young people from across the region gathered at the STAR Forum in Tirana for a day dedicated to learning, networking, and exploring new opportunities for personal and professional growth. Organized by the Young Professionals Network (YPN), the event was all about bringing together ambitious youth, experts and changemakers, creating a space where ideas could be shared, connections built, and future collaborations inspired.

As part of the agenda, WeBalkans hosted an engaging “EU with YOU” session moderated by YEA Olta Shehu and featuring Ivan Durgutov as a panelist. The interactive discussion focused on the opportunities available to young people through the European Union, the importance of active citizenship and the role that youth can play in shaping more resilient and connected communities across the Western Balkans.

Participants learned more about the latest “EU With YOU” campaign, discovering how different people from across the region work together to promote European values, foster regional cooperation and create positive change in their local communities. Through open discussion and personal experiences, the session highlighted how volunteering, advocacy and international cooperation can open doors to new skills, friendships, and professional opportunities.

More importantly, the conversation encouraged participants to see themselves not simply as beneficiaries of opportunities, but as active contributors to their communities. Questions from the audience sparked discussions on youth engagement, regional cooperation  and ways to become involved in initiatives that make a tangible impact.

The STAR Forum once again proved that when young people are given the opportunity to connect, exchange experiences, and learn from one another, new ideas flourish and lasting partnerships begin.
