Serbia
Serbia is a candidate country for European Union membership. The EU is Serbia’s primary political and economic partner, and its largest provider of financial assistance. To support Serbia on its path towards EU membership, the EU and Serbia are working closely to meet EU standards. This covers many areas – from strengthening the rule of law and countering corruption, to improving human rights and the business environment.
In parallel, the EU’s financial support in fields like environmental protection, infrastructure, business competitiveness, education, culture and more, are bringing benefits and opportunities for Serbian citizens.
