EU support for the Western Balkans

Opportunities for citizens, organisations and businesses

The European Union stands as the largest partner and donor of the Western Balkans, supporting the region’s path towards EU membership through funding programmes, technical assistance and people-to-people cooperation.

From research and education to civil society, culture, youth, digital transformation and the rule of law — EU programmes are open to citizens, organisations and institutions across Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia, supporting reforms, strengthening democracy and bringing the region closer to the European family.

  • See below some of the opportunities dedicated to the Western Balkans, where citizens, beneficiaries and organisations can apply.
