Crna Gora je zemlja kandidat za članstvo u EU. U bliskoj saradnji sa EU, Crna Gora napreduje u modernizaciji svoje ekonomije i preduzima politička i institucionalna poboljšanja kako bi dostigla standarde potrebne za članstvo u EU.

EU je prvi politički i ekonomski partner te zemlje i najveći pružatelj finansijske pomoći. Saradnja i finansiranje pokriva mnoga područja – aktivnosti vezane za klimu, poljoprivredu, infrastrukturu, kulturu i obrazovanje, su samo od nekih. Ovom potporom EU želi donijeti opipljivu promjenu životima ljudi i pomoći zemlji da napreduje na svom evropskom putu.
