Evropska životna sredina i ekosistemi su pod sve većim pritiskom. Klimatske promene, nestajanje biodiverziteta, intenzivna poljoprivreda i eksploatacija šuma i morskih resursa ugrožavaju ne samo naše prirodne resurse već i kvalitet života, prosperitet i blagostanje.
Zapadni Balkan nije izuzetak. Iako su mu podareni netaknuti pejzaži i prirodna bogatstva, stepen zagađenosti je visok i predviđanja su da će region biti ozbiljno pogođen klimatskim promenama.
U skladu sa Evropskim zelenim sporazumom, zaštita životne sredine i hvatanje u koštac sa klimatskim promenama nalaze se u središtu podrške i investicija EU i nove Zelene agende EU za Zapadni Balkan.
With the support of the European Union, Sweden and Switzerland, in partnership with the Ministry of Environmental Protection, and in cooperation with the European Investment Bank (EIB), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Serbia is launching the perennial Challenge Call for Proposals for innovative solutions for the green transition of the Serbian economy. The purpose of this Challenge Call for Proposals is to support the implementation of innovative solutions for the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans.

This brochure presents an overview of the 21 projects endorsed by the European Commission in February 2022 to support transport, digital, climate and energy connectivity and health infrastructure projects in the Western Balkans. This is the first major package of project unveiled under the EU’s Economic and Investment Plan for the region, and will be channelled through the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF) platform.
