YEAs Contribute to Dialogue and Action at EYE2025

From 12 to 15 June 2025, six Young European Ambassadors (YEAs) from the Western Balkans joined over 8,500 young people at the European Youth Event (EYE2025) in Strasbourg, one of Europe’s largest youth gatherings. Held at the European Parliament, the event featured more than 300 activities centered on democratic participation, civic engagement, and envisioning the future of Europe.

As part of their visit, YEAs explored key European institutions, including the European Court of Human Rights and the Delegation of the European Union to the Council of Europe. These visits offered a deeper understanding of how European institutions protect human rights and promote shared values.

YEAs were not just participants—they actively contributed to the official EYE programme through three standout activities:

Youth Advisory Masterclass: Learn from the YEAs
Led by Vuk Stanojev, Gresa Boshtraj, and Katarina Marinkovikj, this hands-on workshop introduced participants to the essentials of advocacy, policy dialogue, and youth engagement. It offered tools for young people to become advisors and changemakers in their communities.

Made of Us – WB Road Trip Workshop
This session spotlighted the “Made of Us” campaign, a unique road trip through the Western Balkans led by young people. By sharing stories and lessons from the journey, YEAs highlighted the power of youth initiatives in celebrating diversity, promoting sustainability, and fostering regional unity.

YEA Panel on EU Enlargement
With insightful contributions from Danilo Bulatović, Olta Shehu, and Hana Kunić, this panel explored the future of EU enlargement, discussing both challenges and opportunities. The exchange with youth from Eastern Europe fostered mutual understanding and reinforced the importance of youth voices in shaping Europe’s path forward.

From leading discussions to sharing experiences, YEAs demonstrated the value of youth engagement in European decision-making processes. Their presence at EYE2025 reaffirmed the commitment of Western Balkan youth to a united, inclusive, and forward-looking Europe.
