YEAs take part in
the World Cleanup Day

16 September 2022 | The Badovc Lake, Kosovo

World Cleanup Day unites millions of volunteers, governments, and organizations in 191 countries to tackle the global waste problem and build up a new and sustainable world. Annually over 40,000 participants gather in coastal cleaning events. Inspired by the key message that this is the only home we have, YEAs started the tradition of joining the cause with last year’s #EUBeachCleanup in Albania.

This year, as part of the #EUBeachCleanup, YEAs are joining the European Union Office in Kosovo and GIZ Kosovo who are organizing the Badovc Lake clean-up. Considering the high importance this lake has for the citizens of Pristina as their main drinking water supply, it is important to send a message to the citizens that they need to take care of the lake when they spend their free time there, keeping it clean and litter-free. PAMKOS (The Association for Environmental Protection and Cleanup of Kosovo) will also be the official partner of the clean-up, together with the Regional Waste Company “Pastrimi”.

All the details regarding the event can be found in the Agenda of the Cleanup.
