YEAs Join Regional Dialogue on Youth Policies and Participation in Tirana

On March 17th, 2025, the Europe House in Tirana hosted a Regional Event for sharing the findings and recommendations from the “Comprehensive Assessment of Youth Policies, Activism, and Participation in Serbia, North Macedonia, Kosovo, and Albania.” The report, produced through collaboration between HERA (North Macedonia), CPPSD (Serbia), Qëndresa Qytetare (Albania), and ORCA (Kosovo), provided a sobering overview of the structural barriers facing young people across the Western Balkans.

Among the attendees were Young European Ambassadors (YEAs) Kleidi Memo and Mirjon Mulgeci, who actively participated in the discussions around youth inclusion, policymaking, and access to essential services.

The report underlined persistent gaps in institutional support for youth, limited participation in local decision-making, and the disconnect between education systems and labor market needs—factors that continue to drive youth emigration. It also highlighted alarming trends in mental health, limited access to teen-friendly services, and outdated youth spaces.

Reflecting on the event, YEA Kleidi Memo shared:
“Being part of this conversation reminded me that youth are not just the future- they are the present. Our voices matter, and we must continue pushing for policies that reflect the real needs of young people in the region.”

The event served as an important reminder of the urgent need for regional cooperation, innovation, and sustained investment in youth development to ensure a more inclusive and hopeful future for the next generation.
