EXIT Festival

EXIT Festival

EXIT is an award-winning summer music festival that takes place at the Petrovaradin Fortress in Novi Sad, Serbia, with more than 1000 artists who play at over 40 stages and festival zones.

The festival was founded in 2000 at the Park University as a student movement, with young people fighting for democracy and freedom in Serbia and the Balkans. After the Yugoslavian general election in 2000, EXIT moved to the Petrovaradin Fortress in 2001.

EXIT team organizes five events on five different locations in four countries in South-East Europe: EXIT Festival (Novi Sad, Serbia) in July, Sea Dance Festival (Budva, Montenegro) in August, Sea Star Festival (Umag, Croatia) in May, No Sleep Festival (Belgrade, Serbia) in November and Revolution Festival (Timișoara, Romania) in August.

As it was formed in the spirit of genuine youth rebellion, as a movement for freedom in Serbia and peace in the Balkans, the festival’s mission statement has been clear from the beginning – to achieve social change with music. Social responsibility is still the key aspect of the festival activities, with the main focus on environmental and humanitarian activities, the creative industries development, as well as regional cooperation.

OPENS

OPENS

OPENS is born with Novi Sad being the European Youth Capital 2019 offering young people the opportunities to create the contents they want in the city which has established a sustainable system of youth policy to promote empowerment and networking of all participants in youth policies.

This enables youth to influence the community where they live, to learn and work, as well as to initiate certain changes and make others believe. Empower young people as a positive resource for development, responding to the needs of young people, and improving the quality of their lives and participation in social and political processes. The primary motivation is to keep Novi Sad the city of young people even after 2019, a city where the youths are active citizens, and that will encourage all other cities to create their content for young people, and where they will come to stay.
