On July 24th, 2025, YEA Andrea Darabašić from Serbia led an inspiring online webinar titled “From Blank Page to Big Idea,” guiding youth through the often-intimidating first step of entrepreneurship- ideation. As part of the YEA Monthly Initiative for July, this interactive session was designed to equip young people across the Western Balkans with the tools and confidence to transform their passions and concerns into concrete, actionable project ideas.
The heart of Andrea’s initiative was simple yet powerful: help participants move from uncertainty to clarity in the early stages of building entrepreneurial projects. By demystifying the creative process, the webinar broke down the misconception that great ideas appear out of thin air. Instead, Andrea emphasized that successful ideation is rooted in consistency, structure, and self-awareness.
Through a thoughtfully structured agenda, attendees explored the key components of effective idea generation, beginning with identifying personal interests and passions, followed by discovering real-world problems they care about solving. With a focus on the end user and awareness of market needs, Andrea introduced a practical five-step ideation framework that helped participants connect the dots and begin shaping their own projects.
A highlight of the session was Andrea’s emphasis on overcoming common mental blocks, such as perfectionism, fear of failure, and comparison. Drawing from her own experience, she shared strategies to stay in the creative flow, encouraging participants to start small, experiment early, and prioritize progress over perfection.
Interactive elements brought the learning experience to life. Participants engaged in reflection prompts and brainstorming activities, and received a guided worksheet to help them map out their ideas beyond the session. The lively Q&A session gave attendees the chance to receive feedback on their early-stage ideas, sparking dialogue on challenges young entrepreneurs often face at the beginning of their journey.
Andrea’s webinar not only delivered practical tools but also fostered a sense of community and encouragement among aspiring changemakers. By empowering youth to take that crucial first step- from a blank page to a big idea- she has left a lasting mark on the region’s next generation of innovators.
