Aleksandar Lazovski

My name is Aleksandar and I am an entrepreneur, founder and education activist. As the co-founder of SmartUp, a social innovation lab, I oversee various projects which use new technologies and innovative design processes in order to address emerging social challenges in the areas of education, youth, climate change and public government. Since 2017, I have been focused on developing and scaling EDUINO, North Macedonia’s national collective portal for digital education resources and professional development. Recognized with a special mention among HundrED’s 100 leading innovative solutions in education for 2021, this project represents my burning passion to enable young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to have access to quality and free education. Besides this, I am also the founder of TEDxSkopje, the MeetTheSkopjans, and the ‘A WORD OR TWO’ podcast – the initiatives that aim to collectively bind communities through the power of storytelling and new revolutionary ideas. 

As a YEA and an aspiring Ed.M. at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, I hope to learn how to change the world and inspire other young people to take up action and thus join me in this great pursuit.
