Young Freedom of Expression Ambassadors in Bosnia and Herzegovina

YEAs joined Presentation of Young Freedom of Expression Ambassadors in Bosnia and Herzegovina

On October 28, our YEAs were proud to participate in the Presentation of Young Freedom of Expression Ambassadors, a significant event held in Sarajevo. During this ceremony, 40 passionate young individuals were honored as the new voices of change in Bosnia and Herzegovina, ready to take on critical issues such as hate speech prevention and the protection of media freedom.

The newly appointed ambassadors will focus their efforts on tackling hate speech, promoting tolerance, and safeguarding journalists’ rights in a country where media freedom remains a sensitive and important issue. Their mission includes organizing workshops, events, and public initiatives across Bosnia and Herzegovina, in close partnership with local media outlets, governmental institutions, and other civil society organizations.

The YEAs, including Ena Porča, Dragana Vučković, and Armin Poljak, attended the event to lend their support to the new ambassadors and to strengthen collaboration for future activities. With over 100 attendees, the event was a resounding success, providing a platform for dialogue, learning, and the building of crucial partnerships.

The Young Freedom of Expression Ambassadors will also be instrumental in shaping public discussions on the role of media in society, advocating for policies that protect journalists and foster a safer environment for open expression.

As the YEAs continue to work closely with young leaders across Europe, their involvement in this event marks an important step in fostering deeper regional cooperation and promoting shared values of democracy and freedom of speech.
