Young European Ambassadors shine at College of Europe Opening Ceremony in Tirana
On October 23, 2024, nine Young European Ambassadors had the honor of attending the opening ceremony of the inaugural academic year at the College of Europe, Tirana Campus. The event, held at the Pyramid of Tirana, featured distinguished guests, including Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, and Edi Rama, Prime Minister of Albania.
A key highlight of the ceremony was the inspiring speech delivered by Desantila Muriqi, a YEA and a member of the College’s inaugural cohort. Desantila, alongside her fellow YEAs Klajdi Kaziu and Timur Vilic—also students in this academic year—represented the YEA community with pride. Desantila’s speech resonated with the audience as she spoke about the significance of European values, youth engagement, and the unique opportunities provided by the College of Europe.
Following the event, Klajdi and Timur will contribute further by sharing a detailed article later this week, reflecting on their experiences at the ceremony and their journey at the College. This article will offer personal insights into the impact of this milestone event and their roles as YEAs and students at the College of Europe.
The involvement of YEAs in such high-profile events underscores their active engagement in promoting European ideals and highlights the vital role of youth in shaping Europe’s future.
