Ilir Kiçmari

My name is Ilir Kiçmari, I am 21 years old and I’m from Kosovo.

My biggest passion is mathematics, such as during high school, I was part of National Mathematical Olympiads, Team Selection Test for International Mathematical Olympiad, and selected by the Math Kangaroo Contest-Kosovo. I served as president of the students’ council of Gymnasium ‘Aleksander Xhuvani’. I continued by studying Financial Mathematics and I will be graduating this year at the University of Prishtina ‘Hasan Prishtina’.

During my time as a student, I won two merit-based scholarships from the University of Prishtina and the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, I was member of the students’ council in the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, and I finished an exchange semester at Riga Technical University with the program ERASMUS+. While I was in high school and university I organised and participated in numerous voluntary activities, training courses and youth exchange programmes in order to make my community better and develop myself further.

Lately, I found a grass-root organization NGO Multifunctional Youth Centre – SFEDIT, placed in a village of Kosova called Sfeqla, with the aim to empower youth and women of this rural area. I am youth worker-trainer in the NGO Global Shapers Prishtina and engaged in developing the insurance industry in Kosovo through Financial Mathematics and Actuarial Sciences also.
