Truth in Action: Media Literacy Workshops Mark International Fact-Checking Day in the Western Balkans | WeBalkans | EU Projects in the Western Balkans

On the occasion of the International Fact-checking day, celebrated on 2nd April 2024, YEAs from Western Balkans organised four MIL workshops in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo and Serbia. We would like to thank our YEAs Amila Memić, Adrijana Nikitović, Anđela Micić, Teodora Cekić and Desantila Muriqi for their outstanding efforts. Our YEAs gathered 80 participants to discuss the fundamentals and importance of Media and Information Literacy.

Anđela Micić: “International Fact-Checking Day serves as an important reminder that we live in an age of information. On a daily basis, we receive a lot of information that requires verification. In order to have a safe society, it is essential that the information that influences our daily lives is verified and accurate. Young European ambassadors, wishing to point out the importance of IFCF, organised a media literacy workshop where we discussed about the role of the media, the importance of checking information and how the digital age has changed our lives.”
