Stjuart Islamaj

My name is Stjuart Islamaj, almost 20 years old and I come from a small town in Southern Albania named Selenice. I am currently enrolled as a 2nd-year student at the University of Tirana, Faculty of History and Philology studying Journalism and Communication.

Apart from taking part in activism I really enjoy creating digital content for my followers on TikTok and not only find it entertaining but also impactive depending on the video idea I want to implement.

Growing up I always kept my priorities first and my vision clear in what I wanted to do in the future. I have always enjoyed socializing, helping, and being in constant touch with people and I just knew that my future career would be something that had these three vital elements.

When I was in middle school I came across an organization called Vlora Youth Center organising an awareness campaign against Gender Inequality at the time, I decided to take part, and since then I haven’t stopped participating in such activities. Later on, we decided to create our own hometown’s civil society which is called Selenica Civil Society. Being engaged in youth activism for these many years has definitely shown me the impact that it has to shape and transform a community into a whole new one.
