“My name is Silvana Farruku. I’m a PhD Candidate in Linguistics at University of Regensburg in Germany, a book editor, researcher, volunteer, and human rights activist. In the recent years I have developed a special interest in politics and history, while trying to incorporate them on my linguistic studies. I thrive on initiating discussions and encouraging my peers to do the same. My academic journey led me to earn a Master of Science in Contemporary Linguistics from the University of Tirana and Humboldt University of Berlin.
I firmly believe in the power of language and its impact on society. In today’s digital age, where a single message can sow love or hate in an instant, it’s imperative to educate youth about its potential for both creation and destruction. I advocate for proactive engagement rather than passive complaint to shape a better future.
Having spent nearly a year as an Erasmus+ student in Germany and gaining a research fellowship at University of Regensburg in 2023, I am poised to champion European values and inspire others to participate actively in decision-making processes. I am confident that the youth will drive the necessary changes in Europe, steering it towards a more inclusive and progressive path.”
