Europe Day commemorates the signing of the ‘Schuman declaration’ on 9 May 1950.
The Western Balkans Young European Ambassadors will be part of the Europe Day celebration in Brussels.
This year, the YEA will participate on the 6th of May to the EU Open Doors Day 2023 at the Berlaymont “Youth Village” together with the Directorate-General for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR). During the event, YEAs will join the marking the 75th Anniversary of UDHR and European External Action Service (EEAS) campaign.
As 2023 is the European Year of Skills, the EU is eager to help people get the right skills for quality jobs and companies to address skills shortages and this topic will be leitmotif of the entire event.
Prior to the main celebration, YEAs from the Western Balkans will also meet their peers from YEA East and EU Goodwil Ambassadors to discuss the challenges and opportunities for youth in all three regions, as well as future collaborations between the successful networks. Also, YEAs from the Western Balkans will visit the College of Europe and get to know more about it and meet their peers from the Western Balkans who are currently enrolled in it as students.
Stay tuned to YEAs’ social media channels and WeBalkans channels for more information and stories from Brussels and see what #YEADO.
