Biography

“My name is Selma and I hold a Master’s Degree in Musical Arts – Piano, as well as Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations and Diplomacy. I was the Vice Dean for Student Affairs for two years at the Academy of Music and the Vice-President of the Association of Music Academy Students.

I’m currently working as a piano professor at the Secondary music school in Sarajevo, besides that I was entrusted with tasks such as managing conferences, concerts, social networks etc.

I was awarded with the highest award of the University of Sarajevo – a Golden Badge for exceptional success and strong dedication during my studies with the score of 9,70 two times. I’ve also been awarded, two times, with the Golden Pendant of the City of Sarajevo for the best students who won University of Sarajevo awards.

As a classical pianist from Sarajevo, I won many national and international music awards and recognitions which helped me to pursue my dream in becoming a professional musician. I’m active as a perfomer, teacher as well as a part of many organizational teams (workshops, competitions, masterclasses etc) whose mission is to host world-wide young musicians and give them the opportunity to meet, compete and learn from many known professors from the Western Balkans.

In addition to music, culture or art in general, I am also passionate about International Relations and Human Rights. Besides my Diploma in Politology with a focus on International Relations and Diplomacy, I’ve finished a training to become a Youth Peer Peacebuilding Trainer to promote increased mutual understanding, constructive narrative, respect for diversity, and trust in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Kosovo throuh very important topics.
