Amina Imamović

My name is Amina Imamović, I am a 22-year-old from Travnik, BiH. I am an activist who started her social and political engagement at the age of 13 and since then has been working in several fields with an emphasis on working in the field of human rights of LGBTIQ people and women. Few words could define me and those words would be – vegan, a lover of life, a fighter, a defiance, a person who tries to live the present fighting for the future where all living beings will enjoy an equal, dignified life.

I currently work as a Project Coordinator in Sarajevo Open Centre where she is in charge of working with LGBTIQ people, including working with young people and with the parents of LGBTIQ people. So far I am one of the proud organizers of queer festivals in Sarajevo, 2019. and 2020. Merlinka festival, and in 2021. local festival of queer art and activism – Kvirhana festival.

I am a proud member of the Organizing committee of the First Bh. Pride March in 2019. as well as in 2021.

In my free time I like to practice my graphic design expertise and go out and capture life, motion and people on the streets with her camera.
