TECHNOLOGY, HEALTH AND WELL-BEING
My name is Mariglen Qorri and I was born in the poorest region of Albania, Bulqiza. However that did not stop me to get educated and strive for a better life.
Since a young age I participated as a volunteer in extracurricular activities, reforestation, assisting homeless, and other humanitarian initiatives. Indeed I feel lucky to have been raised in a culture of solidarity, empathy and humanism.
I completed my BA in English Teaching in the Aleksander Moisiu Durres University because I believe a great teacher can create great future generations. While being a student I used to work night-shift as an admin assistant in a digital agency. At the same time I was part of civil society and local organizations – like CSDC DURRES.
Among many initiatives, two are worthwhile for me. The first was the protest for the illegal Durres landfill and the second one was the protest of the Albanian students in 2018.
Both had a great impact but at the first one we achieved to have the government close the landfill and turn it into a green sports park.
