Biography

“I am a researcher and a student of Political Science and International Relations from Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. I am a Young European Ambassador for Bosnia and Herzegovina, and I actively work within the spheres of climate action, public health, and population development. I also worked as a Junior Researcher at the Climate Centre established by the International Federation of the Red Cross/Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), where my research was utilized for the development of the IFRC Climate Action Roadmap for Europe Region and Central Asia.

In 2023, I was chosen among best 10 unpublished young researchers from the wider Europe Region to present my research (on Breast cancer and Cervical cancer in Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina) and be the representative of young people at the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD30) in Geneva.

I am one of the creators of the interactive board game ‘Ciklus’, whose aims are to educate young individuals on the link between menstrual poverty and human rights, and to engage players in decision-making scenarios to highlight challenges.

Furthermore, I am the coordinator and the country contact point for both the first UNFCCC Local Conference of Youth for Climate Action in Bosnia and Herzegovina (LCOY BiH) in 2023, and the upcoming LCOY BiH in 2024, whose objectives are to raise awareness about climate change, enhance environmental consciousness, create unique Youth Policy Statement in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and promote community-based and youth-led climate action initiatives.

In March 2024, I also had the opportunity to represent the young people of the ECE region and speak on a panel within the Regional Forum for Sustainable Development in Geneva, where I emphasized the relevance of participation of children, adolescents and youth, and their pivotal role in sustainable development.

I am currently the Climate Action Contact Point at the Red Cross Society of Bosnia and Herzegovina, within which I am leading the climate action movement within the Red Cross, including community engagement focused on youth participation, health, and climate resilience initiatives. I actively work on promoting climate action as a multi-sectoral process, which includes all spheres of society in Bosnia and Herzegovina.”
