Youth activism, Environment
My name is Vojdan Uzunov, and I am 23. I’m from Skopje, North Macedonia and I am currently a third-year student at the Iustinianus Primus Faculty of Law at St. Cyril and Methodius University. Although traveling and reading have always been my passions, my only study abroad experience was learning Spanish for a month in Barcelona – which was an amazing opportunity. The combination of learning a new language, and living in a foreign city motivated me to be a YEA candidate. As a student, it may sometimes feel impossible for me to contribute towards and influence change in society, but I have come to learn that a student’s true powers are their unity and determination. These conclusions have led me to become a member of the university’s department for the advancement of the rights of marginalized groups in our society, for which I have worked on a number of small, but not insignificant, projects. As my introductory video suggests, I consider myself an environmentalist, and I like to walk or cycle as much as possible while helping people understand that cars should only be used as a necessity – which would be of benefit not only to their own health but also that of our planet.
