From 30 March to 2 April, YEAs Luka Globarevic and Ana Marjanovic represented the Young European Ambassadors network at AIM Innovation Week. This high-level event brought together key actors from Montenegro’s and the wider region’s innovation ecosystem, including startups, corporates, investors, and public institutions. The four-day programme was structured to facilitate direct engagement around sector-specific challenges and to support the development of concrete collaboration and investment opportunities.
The event was organized across thematic days combining training, sector-focused sessions, and an investment-focused closing. Initial sessions focused on strengthening startup capacity, particularly in areas such as persuasion, business modeling, and investment readiness. Sector sessions covered renewable energy, agribusiness, AI and digital technologies, and transport and logistics. These sessions enabled direct interaction between startups and leading corporates, with discussions centred on real industry challenges and potential pilot solutions. The final day focused on funding and investment opportunities, bringing together international financial institutions and venture capital representatives to explore pathways for scaling innovation and supporting early-stage ventures in Montenegro.
For YEAs, AIM Innovation Week demonstrated the growing maturity of Montenegro’s innovation ecosystem and the importance of structured collaboration between public institutions, industry, and startups. They described the event as an insightful platform for identifying concrete opportunities for partnership and investment, while reinforcing the role of innovation in supporting economic development and European integration.
