YOUTH ENTREPRENUERSHIP, EU
My name is Dejan, I graduated from FON University and I am one of the university’s 100 scholarship recipients. Furthermore, along with 49 other individuals, I was selected as one of the university’s 50 success stories, and I was also granted a state scholarship for talented students. I specialized in law at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University and in 2011 won the national competition for the best essay on responsible entrepreneurship for youth. I have always envisioned myself as an entrepreneur, and so, at the age of 25, I began my own business in wine production. The business was founded with the support of many national and international organizations that provided me with grants and mentorship, based on a sustainable and innovative business plan. In 2019, we (along with 31 other companies) participated in a national competition for the most innovative company of the year, in an EU-supported project. In 2020, I was recognized by the Business Elite Awards’ ‘30 under 30’ (Southeast Europe) category for my many efforts and achievements. I’m extremely motivated towards breaking prevalent stereotypes that exist in our society such as, “You can’t succeed without people,” or “He was just lucky.” I am full of enthusiasm and ready to share my knowledge and experiences – which I consider not only a personal desire but also a personal responsibility.
