Youth activism, Environment
My name is Amila Gadžo. I’m 27, and I am a landscape architect, and a youth and environmental activist. I’ve worked on many projects with NGOs, as well as private and public sectors in promoting youth activism, protecting cultural and historical heritage, and the protection of human rights. I spent two years volunteering at the Tignum Youth Club under the Nahla Center for Education and Research, where I worked on the implementation of the ‘Let’s Ekologize Community’ and ‘YOU are IT’ projects. In the 2016 to 2020 period, I worked at the Commission for the Protection of Human Rights, where I had the opportunity to not only contribute to the creation of the strategic document ‘Gender Action Plan of the Municipality of Ilidža,’ but also perform as team leader in the implementation of the strategic goal ‘Increasing citizen involvement in the prevention of gender-based and domestic violence.” During the coronavirus quarantine period, I tried to lift the morale of my fellow citizens by launching the Urban Agro Challenge. My hobby is to blog, on which I write about horticulture, the cultural-historical and natural heritage of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and gardening.
