{"id":929477,"date":"2022-12-14T13:13:26","date_gmt":"2022-12-14T12:13:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/webalkans.eu\/?p=929477"},"modified":"2022-12-15T13:14:21","modified_gmt":"2022-12-15T12:14:21","slug":"eu-german-project-helps-develop-a-joint-waste-management-system-in-pristina-region","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webalkans.eu\/en\/news\/eu-german-project-helps-develop-a-joint-waste-management-system-in-pristina-region\/","title":{"rendered":"EU-German project helps develop a joint waste management system in Pristina region"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On 12 December, as part of the project funded by the EU and Germany working to develop a joint waste management system for the Prishtin\u00eb\/Pri\u0161tina region, the mayors of Fush\u00eb Kosova\/Kosovo Polje, Gllogoc\/Glogovac, Gra\u010danica\/Gra\u00e7anic\u00eb, Obiliq\/Obili\u0107, Podujeva\/Podujevo, and Prishtin\u00eb\/Pri\u0161tina signed a Memorandum of Understanding to launch their cooperation.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In line with the relevant EU directives and Kosovo laws, municipalities will now work to develop an Inter-municipal Integrated Waste Management Plan and an Inter-Municipal Cooperation Agreement for joint work in the waste management sector. The implementation of the Inter-municipal Integrated Waste Management Plan will be the next step in the establishment of an integrated waste management system, which started with the current project funded with \u20ac35 million by the EU and Germany for\u00a0the construction, expansion and rehabilitation of landfills and transfer stations for solid waste in the region.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In order to support related reforms in the waste management sector, and together with the German government, the EU is financing projects implemented by GIZ for \u20ac19 million, for development of proper waste management policies and legislation, inter-municipal integrated waste management planning and cooperation agreements, capacity building at central and local level, introduction of a circular economy and implementation of priority investment projects.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On 12 December, as part of the project funded by the
