{"id":835721,"date":"2022-09-09T16:56:36","date_gmt":"2022-09-09T14:56:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/webalkans.eu\/?p=835721"},"modified":"2022-09-09T16:56:50","modified_gmt":"2022-09-09T14:56:50","slug":"eu-launches-campaign-to-encourage-higher-voter-turnout-in-the-upcoming-bih-elections","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webalkans.eu\/en\/news\/eu-launches-campaign-to-encourage-higher-voter-turnout-in-the-upcoming-bih-elections\/","title":{"rendered":"EU launches campaign to encourage higher voter turnout in the upcoming BiH elections"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The European Union in Bosnia and Herzegovina launched a campaign entitled\u00a0<strong>\u201cEverything starts with a choice\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0aiming to encourage and motivate the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina to exercise their democratic rights by voting in the upcoming elections in October.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The campaign opened with street actions under the slogan \u201cChoosing is Easy\u201d at the BBI Centre in Sarajevo, \u00a0Petar Ko\u010di\u0107 Park in Banja Luka and at the Mepas Mall in Mostar. Passers-by in all three cities were invited to enter a prize draw by stepping into a voting booth and making a simple choice, for example between fashion items, travel destinations in BiH or up-and-coming musicians. By emphasising how easy it is to vote for a simple prize, the action aimed to underline the value of voting for something much more valuable \u2013 a stake in the country\u2019s future.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The campaign will also feature testimonials on the importance of going out to vote. These will come from prominent BiH citizens such as basketball star Jusuf Nurki\u0107, and will run alongside other actions designed to raise public engagement and awareness about the value of exercising one\u2019s democratic rights.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <a href=\"http:\/\/svepocinjeizborom.europa.ba\/\">campaign<\/a> will run until the elections which
