The report was prepared as part of the project <em><a href=\"https:\/\/safejournalists.net\/about-us\/\">Regional Platform of the Western Balkans<\/a><\/em>, funded by the European Union.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The report measured three main indicators:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>-The legal framework for media freedom<\/p>\n<p>-The position of journalists in newsrooms<\/p>\n<p>-The safety of journalists<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Results revealed \u00a0no improvements in 2020 in the media sphere, with instead an increasing trend of attacks on journalists and a deterioration in their security situation.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>According to AJM statistics, a total of 14 attacks and serious threats against journalists have been reported since the beginning of 2020, out of which more than half were against women journalists. In comparison, in the previous year only four such incidents were reported, indicating a three-fold increase.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On 10 June, the Association of
