Experts from Austria, the Czech Republic, Finland, Italy and Slovakia shared their views on what regulators can do to limit waste production \u2013 and what to do best with the remaining debris.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><em><span lang=\"EN-IE\">\u201cWe need to rethink our entire relationship with our environment,\u201d <\/span><\/em><span lang=\"EN-IE\">said Fanny Marchal, the chair of the event and Deputy Head of the Institution Building, TAIEX and Twinning Unit at the European Commission\u2019s Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-IE\">\u201cClimate change,\u00a0biodiversity loss,\u00a0resources depletion\u00a0and\u00a0pollution\u00a0are major challenges that require a profound transformation of value chains, our business models and our consumption habits, to put an end to the destructive production models of today.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-IE\">During the event, other sessions covered sustainable practices in construction and textile sectors. European Commission experts also shared their insights into environmental labelling and recycling food packaging, among others.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-IE\">This year marks 25 years since the launch of the Technical Assistance and Information Exchange instrument (<\/span><span lang=\"EN-IE\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.euneighbours.eu\/en\/east-south\/stay-informed\/projects\/taiex-technical-assistance-and-information-exchange-0\">TAIEX<\/a><\/span><span lang=\"EN-IE\">) in 1996. Originally established as a \u201cone stop shop\u201d to support EU candidate countries in adopting the EU \u2018acquis\u2019 (body of law), today TAIEX promotes EU expertise and best practices
