It is an opportunity for them to explore their surroundings, identify the most interesting parts of their heritage and present them to the rest of the world.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">This competition should encourage young people to understand the concept of heritage and express their views. This year\u2019s theme is<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.europeanheritagedays.com\/Shared-Theme\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cSustainable Heritage\u201d<\/a><\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The competition is part of the<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.europeanheritagedays.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">European Heritage Days<\/a><\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">. With up to 70,000 events organised each year in the European states signatory to the<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.coe.int\/en\/web\/conventions\/full-list\/-\/conventions\/treaty\/018\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">European Cultural Convention<\/a><\/span><span class=\"apple-converted-space\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">and an estimated 30 million visitors, this joint action of the<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.coe.int\/en\/web\/portal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Council of Europe<\/a><\/span><span class=\"apple-converted-space\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">and of the European Commission is a unique example of a grass-roots initiative organised and shared by millions of people living in Europe.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Young European Heritage Makers\u00a0is a competition for the young people of Europe, including young people from the Western Balkans.
