{"id":591855,"date":"2022-05-10T18:45:22","date_gmt":"2022-05-10T16:45:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/webalkans.eu\/?p=591855"},"modified":"2022-05-11T07:35:22","modified_gmt":"2022-05-11T05:35:22","slug":"yeas-at-europe-day-in-brussels","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webalkans.eu\/en\/news\/yeas-at-europe-day-in-brussels\/","title":{"rendered":"YEAs at Europe Day in Brussels"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A number of Young European Ambassadors (YEAs) from the Western Balkans were invited to\u00a0take part in\u00a0this year\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/european-union.europa.eu\/system\/files\/2022-04\/Europe-Day-2022-highlights.pdf\">Europe Day<\/a> in Brussels,\u00a0joining\u00a0other YEAs from the EU\u2019s Eastern Neighbourhood and Goodwill Ambassadors from the Southern Neighbourhood.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With\u00a0the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/europa.eu\/youth\/year-of-youth_en#content\">2022 European Year of Youth<\/a>\u00a0putting\u00a0the spotlight on young people, the Young European Ambassadors participated in events organised by European Institutions, including a youth debate organised by the Directorate-General for Education and Culture and the football match in support of refugees worldwide organised by the Directorate-General for Migration and Home Affairs. In addition to taking part in the celebrations, YEAs from the Western Balkans also met their peers from\u00a0the EU Eastern and Southern Neighbourhoods\u00a0to discuss challenges and opportunities for youth in all three regions, as well as future collaboration between these networks.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Every year, a series of public diplomacy activities\u00a0take place in Brussels\u00a0in the week leading\u00a0up\u00a0to 9 May\u00a0\u2013\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/europeday.europa.eu\/index_en\">Europe Day<\/a>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0to celebrate the peace and unity of Europe. The aim is to bring\u00a0the\u00a0EU closer to people, informing and raising awareness about what\u00a0the\u00a0EU stands for: its values, structures, and institutions,\u00a0and its partnership, cooperation and support to regions and countries across the world.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This year,\u00a0Europe Day is\u00a0also\u00a0an important moment to reaffirm\u00a0the EU\u2019s\u00a0commitment\u00a0to peace,\u00a0to\u00a0showcase\u00a0its\u00a0unity and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/info\/strategy\/priorities-2019-2024\/stronger-europe-world\/eu-solidarity-ukraine_en\">solidarity with Ukraine<\/a>\u00a0and the Ukrainian people, and to\u00a0stand up
