{"id":569243,"date":"2022-04-07T15:51:22","date_gmt":"2022-04-07T13:51:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/webalkans.eu\/?p=569243"},"modified":"2022-04-07T15:51:22","modified_gmt":"2022-04-07T13:51:22","slug":"journalists-trained-on-safe-and-ethical-reporting-in-crisis-situations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webalkans.eu\/en\/news\/journalists-trained-on-safe-and-ethical-reporting-in-crisis-situations\/","title":{"rendered":"Journalists trained on safe and ethical reporting in crisis situations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To improve the way journalists report in crisis situations, BIRN Kosovo ran a training for 18 journalists and students of journalism, equipping them with the necessary knowledge and offering best practices for reporting from protests, with a special focus on violent contexts.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The EU-funded training consisted of two sessions &#8211; the first, delivered by Amir G\u00ebrguri, Commander of special units in the Kosovo Police, focused on communication with security institutions in crisis situations and the second, by Kreshnik Gashi, editor-in-chief of KALLXO.com, \u00a0covered safe and ethical reporting of crisis situations. Participants were given examples of the theoretical framework in practice and had the opportunity to ask questions and share their own experiences.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The training was organised as part of the \u201cProviding a safe environment for journalists during protests\u201d project funded by the European Union Office
