This year\u2019s edition of the award is dedicated to the extraordinary people that promote equality through employment.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The 2021 EU Roma Integration Award will promote private or public initiatives sensitive to the problem of lack of employment in the Roma communities, and offer recognition, publicity and support to positive models yielding tangible results.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The 2021 award confirms the EU\u2019s commitment to support and recognise work on Roma integration. Gender equality and the empowerment of Roma women in the area of employment is an important dimension. The deadline for applications is 30 April 2021.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/neighbourhood-enlargement\/news_corner\/news\/call-applications-now-open-2021-eu-award-roma-integration-western-balkans-and_en#_ftn1\">Read more<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"_ftn1\"><\/a><a style=\"font-size:0.8em; font-style:italic\" href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/neighbourhood-enlargement\/news_corner\/news\/call-applications-now-open-2021-eu-award-roma-integration-western-balkans-and_en#_ftnref1\"><em><sup>[1]<\/sup><\/em><\/a> <em style=\"font-size:0.8em; font-style:italic\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0In line with the terminology of European institutions the umbrella term \u2018Roma\u2019 is used here to refer to a number of different groups (e.g. Roma, Sinti, Kale, Gypsies, Romanichels, Boyash, Ashkali, Egyptians, Yenish, Dom, Lom, Rom, Abdal\u2026) without denying the specificities of these groups.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The call for applications for the 2021 EU Award for Roma [1] integration in the Western Balkans and Turkey is now open.
