The memoranda, which form part of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/enlargement.ec.europa.eu\/funding-technical-assistance\/growth-plan-moldova_en\">EU Moldova Growth Plan<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0<a class=\"ecl-link ecl-link--icon\" href=\"https:\/\/www.transport-community.org\/transport-facilitation\/green-lanes\/\"><span class=\"ecl-link__label\">EU\u2013Western Balkans Green Lanes initiative<\/span><\/a>, led by the\u00a0<a class=\"ecl-link ecl-link--icon\" href=\"https:\/\/www.transport-community.org\/\"><span class=\"ecl-link__label\">Transport Community<\/span><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a class=\"ecl-link ecl-link--icon\" href=\"https:\/\/cefta.int\/\"><span class=\"ecl-link__label\">Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA)<\/span><\/a>, aim at reducing waiting times at border crossings and facilitating the movement of goods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The three new agreements build on existing bilateral memoranda already in place at other borders between partners in the region. The provisions on customs data exchange between EU and non-EU countries can only be put in place when the necessary EU legal framework is established and\u00a0the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/taxation-customs.ec.europa.eu\/customs\/eu-customs-reform_en\">EU Customs Reform<\/a>\u00a0will be in place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In parallel, the EU has also made available \u20ac54 million to invest in 11 priority border crossing points ensuring smoother transit of goods.
