Businesses from the EU, EEA and the Western Balkans are invited to submit proposals for investment projects, with a deadline of\u00a0<strong>21 May 2025<\/strong>.\n\nThe European Commission will review proposals and aim to support the most suitable projects with its available policy, technical, or financial instruments.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>The objective is<strong>\u00a0to boost private investment in infrastructure development, economic diversification, the green and digital twin transition, and EU value chain integration, with a view to creating jobs and bridging the economic convergence gap with the EU\u00a0in line with the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans.<\/strong>\n\n<strong>Commissioner for Enlargement and Eastern Neighbourhood Marta Kos<\/strong>said:<em>\u00a0<\/em>&#8220;<em>We are not just talking about investment, we are talking about transformation<\/em>.\u00a0<em>We are looking for innovative, game-changing projects that will propel the Western Balkans forward and strengthen its connections with the EU. I invite private companies to seize the opportunity and join us on this journey, to invest, to innovate, and to shape the region\u2019s future.<\/em>&#8220;<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\nThe priority areas of the Call \u2013 based on the strategic priorities of the\u00a0<strong>Growth Plan for the Western Balkans<\/strong>\u00a0and of the\u00a0<strong>Western Balkans Investment Framework<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 are as follows:\n<ul>\n \t<li><strong>Green Transition<\/strong><\/li>\n \t<li><strong>Integration into the EU industrial supply chains\/manufacturing<\/strong><\/li>\n \t<li><strong>Critical Raw Materials<\/strong><\/li>\n \t<li><strong>Sustainable Transport<\/strong><\/li>\n \t<li><strong>Digital transition<\/strong><\/li>\n \t<li><strong>Sustainable tourism<\/strong><\/li>\n \t<li><strong>Human Capital Development<\/strong><\/li>\n \t<li><strong>Impact finance<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\nTo be eligible, investment projects must meet a\u00a0<strong>minimum threshold of \u20ac10 million<\/strong>, with a\u00a0<strong>minimum required equity\/own resources participation of 15%<\/strong>\u00a0of the total value of the investment project.
