This investment aims to improve daily life for Montenegro\u2019s citizens by enhancing connectivity between the northern region and the capital, Podgorica, fostering socio-economic development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Commissioner Oliv\u00e9r V\u00e1rhelyi stated, \u201cThe EU is committed to investing in Montenegro to accelerate the country\u2019s socio-economic development. The construction of the next section of the Bar-Boljare Highway will better integrate the Western Balkan region and unlock trade and investment potential, which is central to the EU\u2019s Growth Plan for the Western Balkans.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The total cost for the new section is approximately \u20ac600 million, with the initial \u20ac100 million grant from the EU\u2019s IPA III funds marking the first phase of support.
