With an increased budget of nearly \u20ac3.9 billion for the next year, Erasmus+ will continue to provide opportunities for study periods abroad, traineeships, apprenticeships, and staff exchanges and cross<span lang=\"EN-GB\">&#8211;<\/span>border cooperation projects in youth<span lang=\"EN-GB\">, <\/span>sport<span lang=\"EN-GB\">, <\/span>education and training. In addition to the general call, the annual work programme also includes other <span lang=\"EN-GB\">elements<\/span>, such as the<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/education\/education-in-the-eu\/european-education-area\/european-universities-initiative_en\">European Universities initiative<\/a><span lang=\"EN-GB\">,\u00a0 <\/span>to be launched separately<span lang=\"EN-GB\">.<\/span>\n\n&nbsp;\n\n<\/div>\n<div>\n\nVice-President for Promoting our European Way of Life, Margaritis <strong>Schinas<\/strong>, said<span lang=\"EN-GB\">,<\/span> \u201c<em>The launch of the new 2022 Erasmus+ calls have a special resonance. 2022 will mark the 35<\/em><em><span lang=\"EN-GB\">th<\/span><\/em><em> anniversary of the programme, but also the year dedicated to youth. Erasmus has been an unforgettable experience for many years<\/em><em><span lang=\"EN-GB\">;<\/span><\/em><em> let 2022 be even more unforgettable! With this new Erasmus year, we hope to make the experience more inclusive and more far-reaching, for young people to learn and travel after many difficult months.<\/em>\u201d<i><\/i>\n\n&nbsp;\n\n<\/div>\n<div>\n\nThe programme will continue to support young people and to encourage their participation in democratic life, contributing significantly to the objectives of the<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/commission\/presscorner\/detail\/en\/IP_21_5226\">European Year of Youth 2022<\/a>, which was announced in the State of the Union address in September 2021.
