{"id":3163485,"date":"2021-12-06T14:44:32","date_gmt":"2021-12-06T14:44:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/webalkans.eu\/work-begins-on-the-eu-supported-corridor-vc-section-near-doboj\/"},"modified":"2026-05-05T15:17:17","modified_gmt":"2026-05-05T15:17:17","slug":"work-begins-on-the-eu-supported-corridor-vc-section-near-doboj","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webalkans.eu\/en\/work-begins-on-the-eu-supported-corridor-vc-section-near-doboj\/","title":{"rendered":"Work begins on the EU-supported Corridor Vc section near Doboj"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div>\n\n<em>Corridor Vc is a major transit road <\/em><em><span lang=\"EN-GB\">connecting Hungary<\/span><\/em><em>, Bosnia and Herzegovina<\/em><em><span lang=\"EN-GB\">,<\/span><\/em> <em><span lang=\"EN-GB\">and<\/span><\/em><em> Croatia<\/em><em><span lang=\"EN-GB\">. <\/span><\/em>Work<span lang=\"EN-GB\"> has<\/span> <span lang=\"EN-GB\">now <\/span>started on <span lang=\"EN-GB\">the <\/span>section in Bosnia and Herzegovina <span lang=\"EN-GB\">(BiH) <\/span>from <span lang=\"EN-GB\">the <\/span>Rudanka interchange to the exit tunnel Putnikovo brdo 2, another important part of the Corridor Vc <span lang=\"EN-GB\">and<\/span> a precondition for construction of the bypass road around Doboj.\n\n&nbsp;\n\n<\/div>\n<div>\n\nThe construction of this very demanding 5.3 km section includes several major structures: <span lang=\"EN-GB\">the <\/span>Rudanka Bridge over <span lang=\"EN-GB\">the <\/span>Bosna river, <span lang=\"EN-GB\">the <\/span>Putnikovo brdo 1 dual tube tunnel, <span lang=\"EN-GB\">and the <\/span>Putnikovo brdo <span lang=\"EN-GB\">v<\/span>iaduct. This section <span lang=\"EN-GB\">also <\/span>crosses <span lang=\"EN-GB\">the <\/span>entity border<span lang=\"EN-GB\"> which runs through<\/span> the middle of <span lang=\"EN-GB\">the<\/span> Putnikovo brdo 2 tunnel and is an example of successful cooperation between the public companies of <span lang=\"EN-GB\">the<\/span> Federation of BiH and Republika Srpska.\n\n&nbsp;\n\n<\/div>\n<div>\n\n<span lang=\"EN-GB\">A<\/span> ceremony <span lang=\"EN-GB\">to celebrate the works <\/span>was attended by<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><strong>Stefano Ellero<\/strong>, Head of Cooperation of the Delegation of the European Union in Bosnia and Herzegovina,<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><strong>Manuela Naessl<\/strong>, Head of BiH of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development<span lang=\"EN-GB\">, and representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina local and central level authorities.<\/span>\n\n&nbsp;\n\n<\/div>\n<div>\n\nEstimated costs for this section are \u20ac190.9 million, financed through \u20ac37.9 million in EU grants through the W<span lang=\"EN-GB\">estern <\/span>B<span lang=\"EN-GB\">alkans <\/span>I<span lang=\"EN-GB\">nvestment <\/span>F<span lang=\"EN-GB\">ramework (WBIF)<\/span>, \u20ac150 million E<span lang=\"EN-GB\">uropean <\/span>B<span lang=\"EN-GB\">ank for <\/span>R<span lang=\"EN-GB\">econstruction and <\/span>D<span lang=\"EN-GB\">evelopment<\/span> loan and \u20ac3 million in beneficiary contributions.
