{"id":1241575,"date":"2023-11-24T16:28:28","date_gmt":"2023-11-24T15:28:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/webalkans.eu\/?p=1241575"},"modified":"2023-11-24T16:28:39","modified_gmt":"2023-11-24T15:28:39","slug":"eu-ambassador-sattler-at-business-conference-in-banja-luka-growth-plan-is-an-opportunity-for-bih-that-it-cannot-afford-to-miss","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webalkans.eu\/en\/news\/eu-ambassador-sattler-at-business-conference-in-banja-luka-growth-plan-is-an-opportunity-for-bih-that-it-cannot-afford-to-miss\/","title":{"rendered":"EU Ambassador Sattler at Business Conference in Banja Luka: Growth Plan is an opportunity for BiH that it cannot afford to miss"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Head of the EU Delegation\/ EU Special Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Ambassador Johann Sattler, opened the Business Conference \u201cChallenges and Future of Business #3\u201d in Banja Luka\u2019s Banski Dvori on Wednesday, 22 November 2023.\u00a0Organised by the Union of Employers of Republika Srpska (RS), the conference is included in the process of developing the RS Economic Reform Programme 2022\/2024 and is part of the EU-funded project \u201cContribution of civil society organisations to improving the impact of entrepreneurship on the socio-economic development of BiH \u2013 EISE project\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Addressing\u00a0representatives of employers\u2019 organisations, government officials, the academic community, institutions and expert organisations, Ambassador Sattler underlined the opportunities presented through the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans worth \u20ac6 billion, including closer economic integration with the European Union and deepening regional integration.\u00a0 He stressed however the importance of reform. \u201cOnly with swift and rational adoption and implementation of key reforms will BiH be able to compete on the European Market, with a population of close to 450 million and GDP of close to EUR 16 trillion in 2022\u201d, Ambassador Sattler said. Speaking about the concrete reforms, the Ambassador noted,\u00a0\u201cAmong the reforms should be transformative issues, such as electronic signature or energy legislation that will allow BiH companies to remain competitive on the European market\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The conference \u201cChallenges and Future of Business #3\u201d gathered several hundred participants with a goal to discuss the key economic and social challenges and map out the steps which would contribute to development in the society.
