{"id":1206195,"date":"2023-10-04T11:11:13","date_gmt":"2023-10-04T09:11:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/webalkans.eu\/?p=1206195"},"modified":"2023-10-06T11:12:43","modified_gmt":"2023-10-06T09:12:43","slug":"applications-are-open-for-36000-young-people-born-in-2005-to-receive-a-free-travel-pass-thank-to-discovereu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webalkans.eu\/en\/news\/applications-are-open-for-36000-young-people-born-in-2005-to-receive-a-free-travel-pass-thank-to-discovereu\/","title":{"rendered":"Applications are open for 36,000 young people born in 2005 to receive a free travel pass thank to DiscoverEU"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Commission has launched the DiscoverEU autumn call, thanks to which\u00a0<strong>36,000 young people will receive a free travel pass to explore Europe<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The application round starts\u00a0<strong>today at 12:00 CEST<\/strong>\u00a0and will\u00a0<strong>end on Wednesday 18 October at 12:00 CEST<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong> To win a travel pass, young people are invited to apply on the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/youth.europa.eu\/discovereu_en\">European Youth Portal<\/a>, answer five quiz questions and one tiebreaker question. Successful applicants born between 1 January 2005 and 31 December 2005 will be able to travel in Europe for up to 30 days during the travel period 1 March 2024 and 31 May 2025. The call is open to applicants from the European Union and the third countries associated to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/erasmus-plus.ec.europa.eu\/\">Erasmus+ Programme<\/a>\u00a0i.e. Iceland, Liechtenstein, <strong>North Macedonia,<\/strong> Norway, <strong>Serbia <\/strong>and T\u00fcrkiye.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Participants will be able to discover the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/youth.europa.eu\/discovereu\/new-european-bauhaus-routes_en\">New European Bauhaus route<\/a>, launched in January 2023. It aims to inspire young people when choosing their destinations and raise awareness on the importance of making the European Union \u2018beautiful, sustainable, together&#8217;. Participants will also continue to benefit from the initiatives launched in 2022 during the European Year of Youth, such as the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/youth.europa.eu\/discovereu\/culture-routes_en\">DiscoverEU Culture Route<\/a>. The latter combines various destinations and cultural branches, including architecture, music, fine art, theatre, fashion, design and more. DiscoverEU travellers can visit the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/culture.ec.europa.eu\/policies\/culture-in-cities-and-regions\/european-capitals-of-culture\">European Capitals of Culture<\/a>, destinations added on the prestigious\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/whc.unesco.org\/en\/list\/\">UNESCO World Heritage List<\/a>, or holders of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/culture.ec.europa.eu\/cultural-heritage\/initiatives-and-success-stories\/european-heritage-label-sites\">European Heritage Label<\/a>.
