The ceremony was attended by\u00a0<\/span><strong><span lang=\"EN-IE\">Alexis Hupin<\/span><\/strong><span lang=\"EN-US\">, the Charg<\/span><span lang=\"EN-IE\">\u00e9\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">d&#8217;Affaires at the European Union Delegation to Albania, <\/span><strong><span lang=\"EN-IE\">Brit Horschke<\/span><\/strong><span lang=\"EN-US\">, Director of KfW Office Albania,\u00a0<\/span><strong><span lang=\"IT\">Peter Zingraf<\/span><\/strong><span lang=\"PT\">, German Ambassador in Albania,\u00a0<\/span><strong><span lang=\"EN-US\">Evis Kushi<\/span><\/strong><span lang=\"EN-US\">,\u00a0the\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"EN-IE\">Albanian\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">Minister of Education, Sports and Youth\u00a0and<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><strong>Erion Veliaj<\/strong>, Mayor of Tirana.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">The\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"EN-IE\">renovation<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0is supported by a\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"PT\">\u20ac<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">4.78 million grant from the European Union through the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF) and\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"PT\">\u20ac<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">30 million\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"EN-IE\">loan and grant package from<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0the German Federal Government through the\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kfw-entwicklungsbank.de\/International-financing\/KfW-Entwicklungsbank\/\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">KfW Development Bank<\/span><\/a><\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">The project\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"EN-IE\">consists of the\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">rehabilitation of 19 dormitories\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"EN-IE\">to<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0the EU\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wbif.eu\/en\/introduction-nearly-zero-energy-buildings-western-balkans\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Nearly-Zero Energy Building (NZEB)<\/span><\/a><\/span><span class=\"apple-converted-space\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">standard and construct at least 3 new energy\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"EN-IE\">efficient<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0buildings. The<\/span><span lang=\"EN-IE\">se<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0improvements will decrease energy consumption by an average of 20%. 4,700 students will benefit from improved living conditions, while\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"EN-IE\">at least<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a070% of the dormitories<\/span><span lang=\"EN-IE\">\u2019 capacity<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> will be occupied by students with low incomes.
