{"id":102213,"date":"2021-11-26T16:36:18","date_gmt":"2021-11-26T15:36:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/webalkans.eu\/?p=102213"},"modified":"2021-11-26T16:36:18","modified_gmt":"2021-11-26T15:36:18","slug":"eu-and-serbia-cooperate-on-humanitarian-demining","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webalkans.eu\/en\/news\/eu-and-serbia-cooperate-on-humanitarian-demining\/","title":{"rendered":"EU and Serbia cooperate on humanitarian demining"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Ten instructors for training the trainers for demining received internationally recogni<span lang=\"EN-IE\">s<\/span>ed certificates <span lang=\"EN-GB\">on 19 November<\/span> at the premises of the Demining Center in Grocka<span lang=\"EN-GB\"> Serbia <\/span>. <span lang=\"EN-GB\">T<\/span>he certificates were handed to them by the Ambassador of the European Union to Serbia, Emanuele Giaufret, and Predrag Bandi\u0107, general and acting Assistant Minister for Defense Policy.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Ambassador Giaufret stated that Serbia is a major and reliable contributor to the EU\u2019s <span lang=\"EN-GB\">Common Security and Defence Policy (<\/span>CSDP<span lang=\"EN-GB\">)<\/span> missions. \u201cThanks to this EU funded project, ten students from the Serbian armed <span lang=\"EN-IE\">f<\/span>orces and the Mine Action Centre will be awarded for upgrading their capacities in humanitarian demining. This project strengthens our effective cooperation in the CSDP and Serbia\u2019s alignment with international standards in the demining field. Serbia is the EU\u2019s valuable partner in the area of security and defence policies<span lang=\"EN-IE\">,\u201d<\/span> said the Ambassador.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The <span lang=\"EN-GB\">training was provided as part of the EU funded <\/span>project \u201cStrengthening the capacity of the Republic of Serbia in the field of demining and destruction of unexploded ordnance\u201d <span lang=\"EN-GB\">which <\/span>is being implemented within the cooperation of the Demining Center with the Ministry of Defense<span lang=\"EN-GB\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The \u20ac600<span lang=\"EN-IE\">,<\/span>000 project contributes to strengthening the capacity of the Republic of Serbia in the field of humanitarian demining. With this project, the Republic of Serbia and the European Union continue to intensify cooperation in the field of Common Security and Defense Policy
