{"id":1009702,"date":"2023-01-13T12:11:10","date_gmt":"2023-01-13T11:11:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/webalkans.eu\/?p=1009702"},"modified":"2023-01-13T12:11:10","modified_gmt":"2023-01-13T11:11:10","slug":"judicial-reform-for-stable-institutions-in-serbia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webalkans.eu\/en\/news\/judicial-reform-for-stable-institutions-in-serbia\/","title":{"rendered":"Judicial reform for stable institutions in Serbia"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Judicial reform is important for the citizens of Serbia because it will bring about a more autonomous judiciary and independent prosecution service, and the rule of law remains the main pillar of Serbia\u2019s European integration, said EU Ambassador to Serbia, Emanuele Giaufret, at the final public debate on the set of judicial laws. \u201cThe implementation of the law will be the focus of the European Union and the full implementation of these laws will bring progress to Serbia. We also expect Serbia to adopt the recommendations made by the Venice Commission on the proposals of these laws so that we can say that the legal solutions are fully in line with European standards and practices,\u201d said Giaufret.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The EU Ambassador added that the Venice Commission said that for real change, a change in political and legal culture is also needed. While political and judicial authorities have a primary responsibility, civil society organisations and citizens, also have an important role to play.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The public <\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">consultation <\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">process <\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">on judicial laws was held within the \u201cEU for support of judicial reform\u201d project, which has been implemented in Serbia by the Council of Europe and the European Union since
