Their instruments &#8211; ranging from classical to traditional, rare to modern &#8211; showcase how Europe, with the Western Balkans as an integral part, share creativity and cultural heritage. One Song One Europe reflects what the EU is today: diverse, vibrant, and united in its differences &#8211; empowering generations to shape their future. Gent Rushi is an Albanian jazz musician, composer, arranger, and band leader. He is a prominent figure in the Albanian jazz scene and has collaborated with musicians both within and outside Albania. He is also a co-founder of the jazz department at the University of Arts in Tirana and its first Jazz Professor.\n\nRushi composed music for film and theater and arranged over 6000 songs, spanning various musical styles. He is a mentor and instructor for young jazz musicians in Albania and has contributed to international projects. Rushi helped establish the jazz department at the University of Arts in Tirana and served as its first Jazz Professor.  Currently he is the Artistic Director of the Jazz in Albania Festival and the Balkan Jazz Showcase Festival.\n\nGent is also General Director of the Albanian Jazz Society and the main curriculum developer in the Jazz Department. She graduated from NUFI \u2018Filip Kutev\u2019 in Kotel in the gadulka class of Velichka Todorova and AMTII \u2018Asen Diamandiev\u2019 \u2013 Plovdiv in the class of Prof. Todor Kirov. A virtuoso of the gadulka, a traditional Bulgarian string instrument, Hristina is known for her ability to translate folklore into contemporary resonance. Her music reflects both personal expression and cultural memory of the Bulgarian folklore.\n\nIn 2008 Christina received an invitation to join the group \u2018Bulgara\u2019 \u2013 the group that uses drum &amp; bass, funk, rock, and jazz elements to emphasize the harmonious beauty of Bulgarian folklore, thus approaching the idea of world fusion.\n\nIn 2011 Christina is among the musicians participating in the oratorio \u2018A Melancholy Beauty\u2019 by Georgi Andreev, whose premiere is at Lincoln Center (New York), Kennedy Center (Washington) with the National Philharmonic \u2013 Washington, and Wang Theater (Boston) with Boston Modern Orchestra Project. In the same year, another great challenge followed \u2013 original music in a duet (gadulka and guitar) together with Petar Milanov. The musicians released the albums \u2018In Focus\u2019 (2012) and \u2018Let me tell you\u2019 (2014). In 2018 the duo became part of the band in the new album \u2018BooCheeMish\u2019 of the world-famous Bulgarian choir \u2018The Mystery of the Bulgarian Voices\u2019 with special guest Lisa Gerard. Three European tours and over 50 concerts follow. At the invitation of David Kuckerman, Christina participated in the album \u2018Hiraeth\u2019 by Lisa Gerrard &amp; David Kuckhermann, which was nominated for a Grammy in 2019 in the New Age Album category.\n\nHer experimental spirit in music has led her to various projects, including participation in theatrical performances, the album of meditative music with the Indigo Orchestra, the international Roots Revival Project, MyStory Of Folklore, Bellova trio, Aleix Tobias project, Om New Quartet, Ethno+, Beleva&amp;Hadjigrudev duo, UnTraditional Duet, and others.\n\nToday Hristina is a soloist in the Folklore Orchestra in Bulgarian National Radio in Sofia and part of different projects that mix music styles and cultures. Hristina earned the \u2018Golden Gadulka of Yanko Petrov\u2019 Award, recognising her contribution to Bulgarian traditional folklore and the gadulka.\n\nAbout the instrument: The gadulka is a traditional Bulgarian bowed string instrument. It commonly has three main strings with up to sixteen sympathetic resonating strings underneath. From an early age, Harmacek was guided towards music by his parents, and at the age of six, he enrolled in the Jind\u0159ich Jind\u0159ich Elementary Art School in Cheb, where he began playing the piano and later the trumpet. The trumpet completely captivated him and became his main instrument and life passion. At the age of eight, he started playing in the MDO Cheb ensemble, with which he travelled to several countries, not only in Europe. After graduating, he successfully passed the entrance exams to the Jaroslav Je\u017eek Conservatory, where he studied trumpet under Ji\u0159\u00ed Koh\u00e1k and composition under Milan Svoboda. His next academic destination was the Jan\u00e1\u010dek Academy of Performing Arts, where he studied jazz performance. After successfully completing all of his studies, he fully dedicated himself to performing in the top professional big bands as a trumpet player, as well as to arranging and producing collaborations with leading Czech jazz and pop artists. His original projects \u2014 the bands Top Dream Company and HarM\u00e1lek Orchestr \u2014 are a natural outcome of his musical journey. He currently teaches trumpet at the Jaroslav Je\u017eek Conservatory and at the jazz interpretation department of its affiliated College of Music.\n\nTop Dream Company \u2013 Since 2004, the band has earned a solid place on the Czech funk scene, sharing stages with names like Kool &amp; the Gang, Freak Power, Victor Wooten, and Cory Henry.\n\nHarM\u00e1lek Orchestr \u2013 founded in 2016, an ensemble innovating the Czech brass band tradition. The orchestra has performed on the main stage at the Gu\u010da Trumpet Festival alongside Boban and Marko Markovi\u0107 and Goran Bregovi\u0107. He was first introduced to the instrument in 1995 by an Aboriginal man in Australia. Back in Germany, he studied the didgeridoo largely autodidactically and over the years developed a distinctive style that offers a fresh perspective on this traditional instrument of the Australian Aboriginal people. Today, he is regarded as one of the most fascinating and versatile contemporary didgeridoo players. His solo performances are highly energetic and captivating, characterized by strong rhythmic drive and refined improvisational skills. His signature, full-bodied sound blends seamlessly into a wide range of musical genres.\n\nDillmann is a member of the band of Arijit Singh, Spotify&#039;s most followed artist and currently India\u2019s most successful singer, with whom he tours worldwide.\n\nOver the past twenty\u2011five years, collaborations across genres have played an integral role in his career. He has worked with renowned jazz artists such as Arkady Shilkloper and G\u00fcnter \u2018Baby\u2019 Sommer, as well as world musicians including Bapi Das Baul and various international gypsy music ensembles. For more than a decade he has also been passionately involved in oriental and modern Sufi music, performing alongside his spiritual teacher Sheikh Hassan Dyck and the ensemble Muhabbat Caravan.\n\nIn the field of classical music, Dillmann is a member of Ensemble NAYA, which released the album Exaltation (Naxos) with Israeli countertenor Yaniv d&#039;Or in 2018. This folk-baroque project earned a five-star review from The Independent for its premiere at Wigmore Hall.\n\nAlso in 2018, Dillmann released his solo album Ritual Bass: Blown Tube\u2014a groundbreaking fusion of didgeridoo and electronic dance music.\n\nAbout the instrument: The didgeridoo (traditional name Yidaki) originally comes from the north of Australia. His concert career is rich, he is distinguished by his stylistic features with long experience and a good knowledge of Albanian and Balkan folk music. \u2018Jazz &amp; Folk\u2019 is the theme with which he held a series of masterclasses in local and international universities such as St. Louis College of Music, Rome, Italy and University of Tirana, Albania. He is active in various local jazz bands with well-known artists.
