Farm to Fork Academy for Green Western Balkans – Our shared European Future
Project Description
The 'Farm to Fork Academy for Green Western Balkans - Our Shared European Future' is a regional project aimed at strengthening civil society’s role in advancing the green and just transition in agricultural and rural development across the Western Balkans. Led by the Albanian Rural Development Network, the action supports civil society organisations (CSOs), National Rural Development Networks in the WB-6, and the Balkan Rural Development Network in contributing to EU integration and policy approximation processes in the agricultural sector.
The project establishes the regional Farm to Fork Academy (F2F) as a platform for capacity building, knowledge exchange, and promotion of innovative, green, and inclusive solutions for sustainable food systems. Through training, sub-granting, awareness campaigns, and regional advocacy, the action strengthens CSOs and rural stakeholders to actively promote environmentally friendly agriculture, biodiversity protection, climate adaptation, and sustainable livelihoods. The initiative also fosters bottom-up policy dialogue and supports alignment of national agricultural and rural development reforms with the EU acquis, particularly in line with the EU Green Deal, the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), and the Farm to Fork Strategy. By empowering civil society networks and promoting sustainable food systems, the project contributes to a resilient, inclusive, and environmentally sustainable rural transformation in the Western Balkans.
